In Oberjoch, there are countless ways to turn your winter holiday into an unforgettable experience.

Skiing, snowboarding, ski touring, cross-country skiing, sledding, or winter hiking all have one thing in common: moving through the crisp, clear winter air creates pure happiness.

At around 1,000 meters above sea level and higher, there is usually plenty of snow from December to April. Whether as a family with first-time skiers, an ambitious ski tourer, a dedicated cross-country skier, or a leisurely winter hiker – your winter holiday will feel like something straight out of a storybook! And the best part: BergBuddies is located right next to the valley station in Oberjoch, so you can dive straight into winter sports fun!

And the best part: the Bad Hindelang PLUS Guest Pass is included! On Skis & Snowboard

Modern lift facilities take you up to the Iseler and the Kühgund. Instead of hustle and bustle, you’ll find a relaxed atmosphere there. As a BergBuddie, you can fully enjoy the 32 kilometers of perfectly groomed slopes – free of charge thanks to the Bad Hindelang PLUS Card included in your room rate, complete with ski and sled pass.

Since things are a bit more relaxed on the slopes in Oberjoch, families with children feel especially comfortable here. The Kinderland and the fun park at the Iselerbahn are particularly popular, where young skiers and snowboarders are in excellent hands.

In the field

When we have the time, we often go ski touring ourselves. Ski touring has a long tradition around Oberjoch. There are numerous tours available on the surrounding mountains between Daumen and Hochvogel, Großer Wilder and Iseler.

These range from easy tours that end with a descent into the ski area to more challenging ones that require sufficient fitness and experience. We are happy to help with the selection and organization.

On the cross-country ski trail

When ice crystals sparkle across vast snowy fields, your breath forms little clouds in the air, and the trails are freshly groomed, gliding along at your own rhythm becomes pure enjoyment.

Cross-country skiing is considered one of the healthiest sports. In Oberjoch, you have access to 90 kilometers of trails for both classic style and skating – from short, flat routes to long-distance tracks with plenty of climbs and descents.

A wonderful circular trail leads from the Allgäu into the neighboring Tyrolean Tannheim Valley.

On the Sled

Sledding is a fun activity you should definitely treat yourself to. It's a simple winter pastime that requires little more than a sled, suitable footwear, warm clothing, and safe, well-maintained runs.

To sled down, you first have to go up. The 8-person gondola from the Hornbach valley station will take you and your sled. Three natural runs, each 3.5 km long, await you at the top.

If you'd like to combine your trip with a stop at a mountain hut, then the Hirschalpe, Buchelalpe, or Schwarzenberghütte are perfect choices!

On tiptoe

Is the journey more important to you than the destination? Those who wander cross-country away from slopes and trails – hearing only their own footsteps, their breathing, and the sounds of nature – discover winter in its meditative, gentle form.

Starting directly from Oberjoch, a variety of scenic winter and snowshoe hikes await you. They lead you through beautiful snow-covered landscapes, reward you with breathtaking views, and the slow, steady movement simply feels good. Unforgettable!
